EU4 require at least Shader Model 3.0 to work properly.Д®dit: I'm now getting an error when the paradox launcher opens saying 'We don't have read/write access to the directory with game data. Edit: The second error message is 'The graphics card detected does not support Shader Model 3.0.

I apoloigise for the vague wording on what the second error message is, but I wanted to get this post written before I restart my computer again, and will try to update it when I try to start the game again. I have run the game on this computer in the past, aproximately 4 months ago with no issues, and have made no hardware changes in that time, however EU4 is now impossible to run or play. I have updated my graphics drivers, added EU4.exe as an exception to the ransomware part of my anti-virus, and tried reinstalling the game, all with no sucess. The only way I can close the game is a full restart of my computer. Task manager opens on my primary display, which is frozen behind the game so I cannot click on it, and often doesn't even show EU4 as running. About 25% of the time the game boots up and I can run it normally, and 75% of the time it freezes on the Europa Universalis 4 loading screen and doesn't progress.ДЄdditionally I cannot close the game from either scenario. Once that message is closed, a second message appears with another error message, but when closed the game begins to start. However I cannot find an adapter line in the settings file to edit. The first one says that the game is 'Unable to create Graphics Device' and suggests setting 'adapter=1' in the settings.txt file. By clicking on the game icon on my second screen I can get the game to open, but only after 2 error messages appear that I must first close. When I initally start the game through steam and click start on the paradox launcher that pops up, the game doesn't open and the display on my primary monitor freezes.
